Through these intense abstract acrylics, I seek to capture the energy of the climate that shapes the landscape of our Atlantic edge. These paintings do not try to be actual portrayals but rather they seek to frame fleeting moments from my experiences hillwalking.
Based on the Isle of Mull, Scotland and Kells, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, I have been able to observe two different landscapes: the brutal elegance of the Highlands and Islands of West Coast Scotland versus the gentle undulating hills and field patterns of Ulster.
